ILM Courses and Qualifications

ILM Logo

The BCF Group is an approved ILM centre. ILM is the UK's largest management body, combining industry-leading qualifications and specialist member services. ILM accreditations are the perfect way to develop yourself, or members of your team, and gain a nationally recognised qualification in the process. We believe that achieving an ILM accreditation will deliver the greatest return on investment, either for you personally or for your organisation.

Every ILM qualification requires the student to apply what they have learnt back into the workplace, evidencing that they have understood and embedded the training, but have also considered how this information will be used to benefit the organisation commercially. This is just one reason why ILM qualifications are so sought after. Not only do the courses teach a lot of useful information, but each qualification also focuses on how it will be of benefit when the candidate is back in the workplace.

Whether it be business coaching and mentoring, or management and leadership, ILM Certificates and Diplomas are amongst the most respected and recognisable qualifications available in these areas.

Attending the training and completing the assignments, with the support of the course tutor, will provide and develop the skills which will prove so essential for managers and business coaches as they progress in their careers.

ILM Courses as Your Career Progresses and You Gain Experience

Another advantage of ILM courses is that not only are there different subject areas from which to choose, such as management and leadership or business coaching, but qualifications within these areas also exist at various levels and cater for people at various stages of their careers.

For example, with regards to business coaching and mentoring, at The BCF Group we offer the Level 5 and the Level 7 coaching and mentoring qualifications. Rather than simply offering one ILM coaching qualifications, we off both of these as whilst similar in some ways, they are also quite different in other ways such as the level of knowledge and experience the candidate possesses, as well as the amount of observed coaching work which is required to take place after the teaching part has taken place.

The ILM Level 5 Certificate and Diploma in Effective Coaching and Mentoring qualification is intended either for those currently in a managerial role where they provide coaching and mentoring to their employees, or for people who are considering embarking on a career in coaching and mentoring others with regards to business performance.

After the Level 5, there is the ILM Level 7 Executive and Senior Level Coaches and Mentors qualification which is aimed at senior managers and HR/OD professionals, as well as those who are already providing business coaching, perhaps on a freelance basis, and wish to acquire a nationally (and often internationally) recognised qualification to enhance their corporate coaching credentials.

Those attending a Level 7 course would therefore be expected to already have experience in providing business coaching and mentoring to others, whereas for the Level 5 – whilst it would be useful – it is not necessary to already be a practising business coach in order to enrol on the course.

For many delegates, the ILM Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Effective Coaching and Mentoring provides the perfect starting point from which to truly begin their journey as an effective workplace coach. As time progresses and they gain more experience, possibly taking on an even greater coaching role within an organisation or deciding to start up their own coaching business and make it their new profession, the ILM Level 7 Certificate of Diploma for Executive and Senior Level Coaches and Mentors provides that next step up in accreditation.

The same is true for ILM management and leadership qualifications. Our most popular ILM management course is the ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management qualification. This course is aimed at those who are new to the role of a manager, or have been doing the role for a while but have had little or no formal managerial training. The syllabus incorporates three main areas:

  • Solving Problems and Making Decisions
  • Understanding Leadership
  • Understanding the Communication Process in the Workplace

By bringing together these key leadership and management skills, achieving this qualification will provide a manager with the tools to create an energised team that works together to achieve the objectives of the company.

Paradigm® Business Psychometric Profilers

Paradigm® business psychometric profilers from the BCF Group

The psychology for success plays a big part in the successful outcomes of many of our coaching interactions. In order to understand our personality and what motivates us, there is no better tool than a robust psychometric report. It is a great point of reference for an individual or team to then adapt and develop natural tendencies and receive support with any weakness to become successful.

Paradigm® reports have helped major companies in establishing or improving their in-house assessment systems. This has been achieved by improving performance through getting the right people into the right jobs, retaining and motivating them in the right way, and developing them in the right direction.
